I’ve known Lynn for some time now. I love reading her stories, even if it seems like she’s on a mission to kill me with angst, lol. This is her first interview as well as mine. To be honest, I can’t believe this is her first interview. She’s such an amazing writer. She is a huge Jacob fan (a woman after my heart) and enjoys writing in her free time. This is our interview via chat. Enjoy getting to know LynnLautner.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Astrid: Hey Lynn. This is my first interview, so bear with me, I’m a little nervous. :)
Lynn: Hey Ast.
Astrid: Thanks for agreeing to this.
You’re popping my cherry. Lol.
Lynn: Lol. Anything for you Ast.

Astrid: Cool beans. So let’s get to it...
How long have you been reading Twilight fanfiction?
Lynn: I have been reading Twilight Fanfiction for about two years now.
(I had to look that up by the way... lol)

Astrid: :) That’s cool.
Did you read all of S.M.’s books? (The Twilight Saga)

Lynn: I’ve read all of the books in the Twilight Saga (probably at least four times) including what she has for Midnight Sun.
Astrid: Really? Wow. You’re way better than me. I think mine are bruised and battered from abuse because of Bella’s stupidity. Lol.
Lynn: Lol. Breaking Dawn is not looking the best, and to be honest I couldn’t read the second part of that one after the first time.

Astrid: I know what you mean about BD.
I had to buy another copy to finish it because when Jake imprinted on the baby I tossed it.
If you had to pick, which book was your favorite? Why?
Lynn: Eclipse by far.
Jacob is one of the main reasons why I really enjoyed that book. I loved that we got to see more of him than we did in New Moon. Not only that but I thought there was a lot of growth there for Jacob. Some people saw him as this immature kid with the way he acted, but I saw his heart on his sleeve. And him reacting like any guy would when he was in love with a girl, he just wanted what was best. safest for her. And because I am a perfectly sane woman, that book sealed my opinion of Edward. You could see it in New Moon of course, his “protectiveness”, but Eclipse really shined the light on what a creepy, overbearing guy Edward really was.

Astrid: I never liked Edward. Ever. Twilight, hated him. New Moon, hated him. Breaking Dawn, wished he was burned into a pile of ashes in that poor excuse of a Volturi confrontation.
Lynn: In Twilight, I had this, “Eh” attitude toward him at first; like ‘what the hell’ for a minute because he was a jerk and then nice. I think what made me okay with him in the first one was the fact that he acted like a man should. Opening doors, respectful toward the adults, and I think this is what hooked Edward lovers. They saw and continued to see his chivalrous side. New Moon, I started to get annoyed, and Eclipse, I was like okay this is getting a little out of hand jerk.

Astrid: Lol. Fair enough.
Do you remember the first fanfiction you read? What did you like most about it?

Lynn: The first fanfiction I ever read *hides* was an Edward/Bella fic. I know we talked about this once, I can’t remember the name, but it was by LolaShoes.
Astrid: I think it was, Let Your Light Shine.
Lynn: Yes, I think that was the title. Lol.
I read it because my cousin actually told me about fanfiction in general and I thought, ‘Huh, might as well check this out.’ So I went on and the first fic on the top of the list was the one I picked. Mostly because it has an M rating and warned of sexually explicit content or something along that line. Also it had a ton of reviews, so I thought it HAD to be good.
She really is an amazing writer. Just wanted to add that it was the first and LAST Edward/Bella I ever read.

Astrid: Lol. I know she stopped writing fanfiction, but I did hear that her writing was great and she is talented.
Lynn: She has it, that’s for sure.

Astrid: How long have you been writing fanfiction?
Lynn: Almost two years. I was reading fanfiction for about four months before I wrote anything.

Astrid: Out of the fanfics that you have written, which one is your favorite? And why?
Lynn: Ahh, this one is so hard. Lol.
I am going to have to say, If I Die Young. It’s a one shot, one of my shorter ones at that, but that song just spoke to me, you know. I wrote it in less than an hour and cried as I wrote it. It really was about what could have happened if Bella chose wrong, and of course the ending of that, and then the right choice that she made.

Astrid: Awww, I read that. I did cry when I read it, but I loved it.
Lynn: Thank you! I’m really happy that you did. Lost to Me, might be my overweight baby, but that’s one of my favorites too.
Astrid: Lol. I like that. Your overweight baby.
Lynn: Lol. It’s true! I couldn’t shut up with that one... geesh.

Astrid. Lol. Now that you say LTM (Lost to Me), do you find it hard to write lemons?
Lynn: No.
At first I was a little nervous, mostly because I couldn’t stop wondering how lame I was going to sound. But now I’m like. ‘Eh, who cares, it’s sex.’ You can’t go wrong with sex... for the most part.

Astrid: Lol. I agree.
What helps you when you write sex scenes? (Movies, music, tumblrs, etc.)

Lynn: All of the above, and a little bit of RL too... is that TMI? Maybe. Oh well. Oh and music! The first lemon I wrote was a songfic from this crazy song I found surfing on youtube.
Astrid: What was the song?
Lynn: The Ice Cream Truck.
Astrid: LOL! That was the name of the song? Really?
Lynn: YES! I should totally link you!
Astrid: Link me. Link me.

Cazwell - Ice Cream Truck

Lynn: OMG... I’m already LMAO! *crying*
Astrid: ROTFLMAO!

Some of those men... Um... OMG!
Lynn: I know right? How do these dudes do the booty pop and I can’t? I’m jealous.
Astrid: Damn it!! That guy tonguing the popsicle...
*fans self*
Buttcheek!
Lynn: Is this going to be included in the interview? Because that would be EPIC... Lmao!
Astrid: Lol! You bet your sweet ass it is.
Lynn: LOL!
Astrid: Fuckin’ amazing. You’re my hero.
Lynn: I try Ast... it’s hard work, someone has to do it.

Astrid: Lmao! (few minutes pass) Okay, I replayed it. I had to stop. STOP AST! INTERVIEW!
Alright. So, in the movies, did you agree with the wolf pack casting? Who would you have cast differently?
Lynn: I think they were pretty spot on with the casting. There was no pack member that I would have changed really. Although I do feel a little bad for Quil... you know, compared to the other wolves he’s just, average.
Man that makes me sound like a superficial bitch. I’m NOT, I swear.

Astrid: No you don’t. And I agree with you. The casting with Quil was lazy, and Jared too in my opinion. And Seth. Don’t get me wrong, Booboo is cute, but in Eclipse he looked like he was 10.
Lynn: Lol. He did look pretty young there.
Astrid: That’s not how they are supposed to look post phase.
Lynn: That’s true. I never really thought of it that way. I just thought that sweetness that is Seth was just there with Booboo.
Astrid: Yeah, he was sweet, but physically, I mean even the Jared and Quil guys... pudgy and man boobs.
Lynn: Lmao!
Astrid: Not at all like Alex Meraz or Taylor Lautner *dreamy sigh*
Lynn: You know what’s weird, there were no man boobs in that picture Bronson posted on Twitter... Hmm...

Astrid: Booboo just felt and looked wrong. He was supposed to be physically 18-20ish. Not 10. Idk.
Are you reading any fanfics now?

Lynn: Yes!
Astrid: Which ones?
Lynn: Love this Pain - TwilightCakes

All of Me - TwilightCakes
If Tomorrow Never Comes - Lucyferina
Not Your Type - WhoNatural
(These are the ones that are updating for the most part)
Astrid: Cool.
So, is it safe to say you love Jacob?

Lynn: Yes. That’s for sure, but I like reading Embry, Paul, and Sam fics too.

Astrid: Me too.
Favorite fanfic writers?

Lynn: Pooks79
MeraNaamJoker
Pavarti
Astridt244
TwilightCakes

Michstargazer (really good too, but I don’t think she writes anymore)
Writer links on bottom.
Astrid: Aww, look! I’m there!
Lynn: Of course you are! BBH, LtS!

Astrid: Lol. Yay!
Favorite fanfiction stories? (Complete or not, but ones that you adored reading)
Lynn: Love this Pain - (I am so in love with this fic right now)
The Imprinted Chronicles: Books 1-3
Never too Late
Coming Full Circle
Be Like Water - UNF!
Unspoken
Holding Sam
He Stopped Loving Her Today: The Crimson Rose

(I die!! But I read it all the time!)
Links on bottom

Astrid: Gotta agree on BLW... that Paul? *THUD* - pantie melting -
OMG! The Crimson Rose tore me up.

Lynn: Yes, BLW, by far the best Paul I have ever read.
Astrid: I agree. He’s just so... *flatlines from overheating*
Lynn: Yes, he just is. I mean the non-sex scene in that is almost hotter than the sex scene itself... ALMOST.
Astrid: OMG! I know! When he kissed her, or she kissed him, Idk, but the description... I swear I busted a few.
Lynn: Me too. *fans self*

Astrid: …
It got hot in here suddenly.
Lol!
Okay, next question before I keep going with the Paul fantasy and then Jacob walks in and manhandles me in the fantasy too...

Lynn: Lol!
Astrid: And yes, this is all going in the interview. Uncensored Asty. Might need some warnings or something.
Lynn: Sweet!

Astrid: Back to questions. :) What do you find easier to write, one shots or multi chapters?
Lynn: Hmmm... For me I guess it just depends on what I am writing. Lost To Me was a breeze for the most part, those chapters just came to me pretty easy. Reasons is a one shot I wrote that had only 500 some odd words and it drove me NUTS to write that one. The hardest thing for me about writing Multi Chapter fics is that I feel the pressure to keep a schedule with them. I hate when a story doesn't update forever and then when it does you have to go back and read everything all over again. Right now I haven't updated one of my stories in a month and feel like an ass for it. I'm trying though. One thing I will never do again, post two multi chapter fics at the same time. Unless one or both is already finished.
Astrid: I understand.
The reason I asked is because (I can’t remember who) someone pointed out to me that a one shot might be easy for some, but its not for all. You have to fit a lot of info in one chapter and have a limit on words. Meanwhile with a multi chapter, you can take your time and develop the story. Which made sense, and again, everyone has their strengths you know.

Lynn: I can totally see that.
Astrid: Like you said too, it all depends on what you’re writing.
Lynn: It really does. I have a one shot I have been working on for months. I just want to get it perfect, and that’s the same way I am with a chapter I’m working on for this WIP multi too.

Astrid: Favorite wolf?
Lynn: Lmao! Jake of course.
Astrid: It better be! Lol! Just kidding.
Lynn: He is just the right mix. Strong, but sweet. Sexy, but cute. Protective but not overly so.

Astrid: *dreamy sigh*
He is isn’t he. Very true.
Is there a vampire from the Twilight books that you like?

Lynn: Jasper.
Astrid: *grins* Me too.
Lynn: Carlisle is okay too, but yeah, Jasper...
Astrid: UNF! I think that Gif did it for me. Lol.
Link to Jasper Sex Face Gif
Lynn: Yes... yes it does do a little something doesn’t it. ;)

Astrid: I mean he was already hot, but that Gif... *swoons*
Do you only read Twilight fandom fics? Are there any other fandoms you like reading, or would like to try?

Lynn: I’ve read a couple of fanfics from Morganville Vampires, Vampire Academy, and Sookie Stackhouse.

Astrid: Cool.
What did you think about Bella as you read the Twilight Saga? (Progressively, from Twilight to Breaking Dawn.) Take your time if you need to think on it.

Lynn: At first I liked Bella or well I understood her. Most girls are awkward at that age. Mix that with moving to a new school in the middle of the year, I got why she was the way she was. I even understood, for the most part, her feelings for Edward in Twilight. First boyfriend, yeah been there. I made stupid decisions too when it came to the first. The difference is I learned and grew Bella did not. She got worse in New Moon, she went backwards. The way she acted when Edward left was a little crazy if you ask me. The fact that it went on as long as it did... *eye roll*

Then Jake pulls her out of this pity hole she dug for herself and I had hope until Alice showed up and Bella made that teenage girl mistake of running back to the boy that left you. So yeah that pissed me off, mostly because it hurt Jake, but also because she was just being dumb. After that I was just annoyed with her. I hated that she knew Jake loved her and she had these feelings for him yet she toyed with his emotions. That she actually wanted these two boys that were fighting for her love to get along. I mean get real... Who does that?
Astrid: Not a sane girl or woman. Let’s face it, at 18 people expect you to have some iota of sense.
Lynn: I stayed annoyed with her the remainder of the books after Eclipse. The ending was the worst. I hated that Jake and Edward were going to be forever around each other, hating each other because of her. Blech.

Astrid: I thought it was thoroughly fucked up how Edward called Jacob ‘son’, when the “confrontation” with the Volturi happened. That shit grated my nerves.
Lynn: It was very annoying. And Bella wasn’t deserving of Jake, not at all. Yet, he will be in her life for all of eternity, and not where he belongs either.

Astrid: I agree.
On that note, what did you think about Edward and the Cullen Coven as a whole during the progression of the books?

Lynn: The more I read the more I disliked Edward. There really was nothing that I liked about him past Twilight. Alice was the same way. I liked her at first, then because she was cahoots with Edward, I started to not like her. She was a little too manipulative for me. The rest of the coven I was just eh. Emmett never really changed. I liked Rosalie when she hated Bella, then stopped liking her when she started protecting the spawn.
Astrid: I have to agree with you there.
It seemed like Alice and Edward did manipulate Bella to their every whim. I wouldn’t have expected less from Rosalie as far as protecting the spawn. She always did want a baby.

Lynn: I didn’t either, but still...

Astrid: Yeah, I know. Sickening. Bleh. Lol.
In your opinion, is there any part of the books that stands out, as far as you wishing Bella would have just stood up and told Edward, “Enough is enough.” and walked away?

Lynn: I wish she would have kicked his ass to the curb when he messed with her truck and prevented her from going to Jake’s. That would have been a shit storm.

Astrid: That one stands out with me too.
How did you come up with your penname?

Lynn: Well my name is Lynda. When I was little everyone used to call me LynnLynn.
Astrid: Awww. That’s cute!
Lynn: When I changed my name on fanfic I tried that and it said it was taken, so LynnLautner came about... lmao!
Astrid: Well I like it.
Lynn: It’s total cheese, but oh well.

Astrid: Favorite published book and author?
Lynn: This one I have to think about.
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson

Astrid: Really?
Lynn: Yeah. I can’t count how many times I’ve read that book.
Astrid: I think I saw the movie, but I never read it. What is it about the book that you like?
Lynn: It reminds me of my childhood honestly. I was the youngest of three, my mother was single and wasn't able to spend very much time with us. I had this crazy, wild imagination similar to the kids in the book.

They create their own kingdom in their heads and I can totally remember doing the same thing. My sister and I would come up with the most random things and it was amazing... Lol.

Astrid: Actually that sounds fun.
Lynn: It was. Plus I’ve just started reading again.
Astrid: Yeah.
Lynn: After getting out of school I just didn’t have time for it. When I did have time, I started off with Sookie Stackhouse books and went from there. I enjoy reading paranormal books more than anything.

Astrid: That’s pretty awesome. :)
Lynn, thank you for letting me interview you and for being so kind and open with me. Is there anything you would to ask? Say? Comments to your readers?

Lynn: I just wanted to say to the people who read my stories to know that I appreciate that they stick with me through my craziness as I write these stories. I really appreciate every review.
Astrid: And we appreciate the effort you put into writing. It’s easy for people to forget that we don’t get paid for this. We do this for fun and to share our creativity. It’s always nice to get a review, or PM, or a tweet about how much they enjoy the story.

Lynn: It really is!
Astrid: Thank you again Lynn. You’re an amazing writer, a talented smutty writer (I'm addicted to your lemons) and I can honestly say that you are one of my favs.
Lynn: Aww, thank Ast!
Astrid: You’re welcome. :) Hugs honey!
Lynn: (((HUGS)))

  1. What a pleasure to read Lynn's interview! I already love her lots, but it was wonderful getting to know her better. She has helped me so many times. I have literally been in a panic before and she came to the rescue. She has taught me so many things.

Sharing that video was epic. I had never seen those guys. The "bam ass" was awesome! The links to the stories was a great touch. Now we can easily look up these great fics.

I loved learning how Lynn got interested in fanfiction and what makes her tick. She is such a talented writer. Her Jacob is one of the best I have ever read. Pretty much perfect. Her writing is right up there with the best of them. We have a lot in common. I guess most "pack" girls do. The things we love, hate, perv over, etc. She has damn good taste!! I got so excited when I saw that she had been interviewed. It was richly deserved. I really enjoyed it from start to finish. ♥ You Lynn. I I had to use that cute little symbol you taught me. *hugs*

Now to Astrid. This might have been the first interview for your blog, but it will be one of the best, no doubt. You are both special women, talented writers, and awesome friends to those lucky enough to know you. I look forward to more interviews. You set the bar pretty high with the first one. *hugs*

  4. Loved this interview! I can't believe someone as talented and mazing as Lynn has never been interviewed before?! Unacceptable! Thanks Twin for correcting that gross oversight. This interview had me giggling like a little school girl. Love, love, loved it! Cant wait for more awesomeness from both of you two ladies :D
